You’ll get used to that the filling stations in Outapi are sometimes out of gas for up to 24 hours especially around payday. Friday I ran out of gas for my kitchen stove. Not a big deal. Usually you can exchange the empty bottle with a new one at my favorite Indian supermarket or a couple of other places in town. Not this week. Rumor has it that the whole country is suffering from a supply shortage. A few minutes ago Ice, one of our drivers, went to Ondangwa – my empty bottle in the trunk. Afrox Oshakati is the only chance left to get it filled up otherwise I have to stick to my camping stove for the rest of the week.
